The aim is launch a 10-year development plan for the area to the north of Coventry city centre. The 148-acre (60ha) Swanswell area is in need of regeneration because it the city's main ring road cut's off the district form central Coventry.

The regeneration agencies are seeking views on four possible solutions comprising:

Improvements to the pedestrian links between the city centre and the nearby canal but leave the ring road untouched between Junctions 1 and 3.

Removal of the slip roads at Junction 2 of the ring road, releasing land for development, and allowing for the building of a new railway.

Removal of Junction 2 of the ring road and replace it with a ground-level boulevard. Remodel Junction 1 and build a new street flanked with new developments.

Demolish the ring road between Junctions 1 and 2 and develop a new ground-level street and pedestrian-friendly "circuses" with new development.
