The expansion raises the law firm's total office space at the 160,000-sf property to 92,000 sf. Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker, LLP, the 15th largest law firm in the New York metro area, according to The Vortex Group, is the building's largest tenant.
Vortex Principals Frederick Marek, Scott Grayson and Vincent Tuminelli represented Wilson, Elser in the lease expansion deal. Ellen Lynch, senior vice president of Albert B. Ashforth, represented the building owner, EastRidge Properties Corp.
"This expansion is yet another prime example of the strength and importance of law firms in today's market," says Vortex's Marek. "Law firms continue to be some of the most active players in today's market and are helping to support the demand for high-end space."
Vortex officials say that the firm is also representing another three law firms that are currently seeking expansion space in the New York area.
In recent years, major law firms such as Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, which leased nearly 50,000 sf at the Reckson Metro Center in White Plains last year for example, have been drawn to the Westchester market. The county boasts, local, state as well as federal court facilities, including the US District Court in downtown White Plains.
