Su Casita's parent is Hipotecaria Su Casita, the second largest mortgage bank in Mexico. Since its founding in 1994, Su Casita has provided hoe mortgage financing to more than 60,000 Mexican families.
Last year, Su Casita began participating in the Partnership for Property, a joint effort between the US and Mexican government to strengthen the economic links between the two countries. Su Casita then launched what it calls "Su Pedacito de Mexico" (Your Little Piece of Mexico), a cross-border lending program for Mexicans living in the US who wish to buy a home in Mexico.
With the new program, the home loan can be approved from the local office without the borrower having to return to Mexico. Also, the borrower can make the monthly mortgage payments here in dollars, with most cost for transmitting the funds to Mexico. The new office is across the street from the Museo de Las Americas.
