The grand opening of Kohl's department store later this week will mark the official re-opening of the property, which was gutted to make way for a new tenant roster. The store opening will bring to 26 the number of Kohl's stores in the Garden State, and to more than 400 nationally.
Besides Kohl's, Eastern has signed Borders Books, Michaels Arts & Crafts, Panera Bread, Chili's restaurant, Verizon Wireless, Sherman Jewelers and Pickwick Village Hallmark to fill long-vacant tenant slots.
One holdover at the 20-acre complex is Burlington Coat Factory, whose existing space is currently being renovated. BCF has been on-site since 1998, when it took over the anchor slot formerly occupied by the bankrupt Jamesway discount chain.
