The Metis Group, which does business under the banner of the Scottsdale Education Center, bought the shell space at 9151 E. Bell Rd. and will open an educational center to tutor middle and high school students.
"There was some good synergy with the other youth activities," Steve Bodeman, with Daum Commercial Real Estate Services, tells GlobeSt.com of the group's new location. The 27,000 sf of owner/user condos includes the Scottsdale Martial Arts, Plumb Dance and Performing Arts and Rejuvent, a medical spa.
The Metis Group's unfinished condo, located near the Loop 101 and Bell Road, was on the market about six months when it was snatched up it up from LGE Corp., which developed the three-building project about a year ago. The tutoring center, which was formerly located at 10401 E. McDowell Mountain Ranch Rd. in Scottsdale, plans to use about 2,500 sf for a tutoring center and lease out the 1,312-sf balance at $18 per sf triple net, says Bodeman, who handled the sale for both parties.
