Richard Marks, executive vice president of Boston-based S.R. Weiner & Associates, tells GlobeSt.com that his firm acquired the center last year. He says that the supermarket is "old" and "tired" and this was a good opportunity to "bring it up to current standard."

The plan calls for putting the market on the second floor of the new building and put a number of small retail tenants on the first floor. Marks says that it is still unclear what will happen to the supermarket during the construction process.

The company has just started the permitting process. Marks says that as of yet they have no plans for the rest of the shopping center.
