AAMG, a mortgage loan producer and provider of related services, currently has about 500 employees in the city. With the Sawgrass Pointe lease, the company could add up to 500 additional jobs in the next three years. That move would make AAMG one of the largest private companies in the county.

"Creating quality jobs is a key objective of Sunrise City government," according to city commissioner Donald K. Rosen. "Sunrise welcomes companies of AAMG's caliber--prosperous, growing companies that typically offer above-average salaries and quality working environments. Employers like AAMG have a positive impact not only on job opportunities, but on property values as well."

Enterprise Florida president and CEO Darrell Kelley says in a statement: "AAMG's strong and growing presence in Sunrise not only makes the region a magnet for other high-quality financial services companies but elevates Florida's image as a global commerce center. Enterprise Florida is thrilled to be part of the team that made this happen."

Florida's Qualified Target Industry tax refund program was a key to the company's decision to locate in the city, according to AAMG officials. The program gives tax refunds to companies that create high-wage, value-added jobs in certain industries, such as electronics, manufacturing and communications.

"AAMG had a number of options for the location of its office expansion needs," says Pike Rowley, director of the Broward County Division of Coral Gables-based Codina Realty Services Inc. Oncor International, which represented Duke Realty, the owner of Sawgrass Pointe, in the transaction.

"Earlier this year, AAMG had an opportunity to expand its operations in either Michigan or Florida, and the QTI refunds made Florida the best business choice," adds Debbie Gleason, senior vice president of administrative services for AAMG.
