Pacific Community is slated to occupy its new space, which is at 2099 State College Blvd., in November. The mortgage company will be relocating from approximately 5,000 sf of leased space in Los Alamitos.

Lori Smith and David Giglio of the Anaheim office of Grubb & Ellis represented the tenant, with Chris Shea of Transwestern Commercial Services representing the landlord, Starwood O.C. Portfolio VII LLC of Irvine. Terms of the transaction were undisclosed.

The Pacific Community deal is the latest in a series of mortgage company transactions over the past several years in which the lenders have inked leases and expansions. Brokers say the mortgage industry is one of the few categories of office users that are expanding in what remains an otherwise flat market for office space. While other types of firms tend to renew for smaller amounts of space and to consolidate their offices into less space, the mortgage firms continue to expand into larger quarters.
