GHP Reports Robust Leasing Activity

Andrew Greenspan, managing partner of GHP of White Plains, comments, "Leasing activity at our properties in the tri-state area continues to be strong." The company's office portfolio, which totals approximately two million sf, is currently about 95% leased.

Three out of the four largest transactions portfolio wide in the first nine months took place in Westchester County. The largest lease deal was TCA's 25,514-sf lease renewal and expansion at 145 Huguenot St. in New Rochelle. Other notable Westchester deals were: Verizon Services Corp.'s renewal of its 17,500-sf at 4 West Red Oak Lane in White Plains and car dealer Sholz Kia's new lease for 11,674 sf of space at 179 Westmoreland Ave. in White Plains. Habour Commercial Real Estate represented the tenant in that deal.

"As we said last year, Westchester seems to be the hot market right now. The county is benefiting from major corporate relocations such as Morgan Stanley and New York Life, as well as from internal business expansions," notes GHP principal James J. Houlihan.

Another major 2003 lease deal at GHP occurred at the firm's 8 King Road office building in Rockleigh, N.J. There, Info X, an information technology services company, signed a new lease for 16,000 sf of space at the 195,000-sf office building. MRH Real Estate Services represented Info X in that transaction.

Representing GHP in all its transactions was Janice Roth, managing director of leasing. James E. Schwartz, Esq. of the New York City-based law firm Saretsky, Katz, Dranoff and Glass represented GHP in every lease and renewal transaction with the exception of the Info-X deal in New Jersey.

In addition to its recent leasing activity, GHP Office Realty announced that it was holding a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday, Oct. 23 to mark the completion of a nearly $1 million renovation effort at its 145 Huguenot St. office building in New Rochelle. The 10-story 300,000-sf building is 94% leased and has a tenant roster that includes: the New York State Health Department, the Westchester County Health Department, Blimpie International, McDonough & Marcus and Widenbach & Brown.
