"We have not only maintained a strong presence in the local market, but we have further strengthened our positions with these leases," David Johnson, a principal of the company tells GlobeSt.com.
Its most prominent lease this year was 118,000-sf to the Sports Authority, formerly known as Garts Sports Co. When Denver-based Garts bought the Sports Authority, it created the largest sporting goods company in the country.
The Sports Authority now leases 210,000 sf in the Englewood Business Center, its world headquarters.
Other recent leases include:
+ King Soopers, the major grocer in the metro area, took 64,532 sf in the Market at Southpark at Broadway and Mineral.
+ Dharmacon leased 40,000 sf in the Lafayette Corporate Campus along the northwest corridor.
+ Spyder Active Sports, a ski apparel company, leased the entire 26,000-sf building at 4725 Walnut St., Boulder.
"We attribute our continued success to our financial strength and ability to work out very competitive deals for our tenants," Johnson says. "There's no question companies are hurting and property owners are hurting, and while we feel fortunate, we also believe our veteran team of brokers, combined with well-maintained property in great locations works well with our ability to be flexible on deals. I don't know if our formula will work for everyone, but it certainly continues to work for us."
