The law firm is Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, which has taken 21,000 sf at the tower in what Tom Phelps, administrative partner of Manatt's Orange County office, says is a doubling of its space in the county. Manatt is scheduled to relocate to its new Park Tower premises in December. The CB Richard Ellis team of Don Nourse, Bob Taylor and Stan Gerlach represented the law firm.

The investment firm is Waddell & Reed Inc. of Kansas City, which has relocated its Orange County divisional headquarters to a new 9,000-sf office within Park Tower. The new lease consolidates two Orange County offices and brings together a staff of more than 40 financial professionals, according to Daralee Barbera, Waddell & Reed's division manager. Bill Early of First Scout Realty Advisors in Kansas City represented Waddell & Reed.

The homebuilder is GBI Residential Development Inc., the local subsidiary of Ghods Builders of Toronto, which is slated to open a 5,000-sf office in Park Tower in early 2004 that will serve as its California headquarters.

Park Tower and The Offices of South Coast Plaza are owned, leased and managed by partnerships affiliated with C.J. Segerstrom & Sons of Costa Mesa. Marketing director for the 17-story property is John R. Barganski.
