The Neenan Co., based in nearby Fort Collins, will begin construction of the state-of-the-art building in the summer. The building will be completed in spring 2005.The facility can be expanded up to 80,000 sf to accommodate Heska's growth.

"Centerra is an ideal location for new development, especially for projects like this," says Chad McWhinney, president and CEO of McWhinney Enterprises, developer of Centerra. "We are very proud that a leading innovator like Heska Corp. has involved us in their plans for the future."

McWhinney says the Northern Colorado Economic Development Corp. and the City of Loveland aided him landing Heska.

"We are delighted that the Heska Corp. elected to stay in our region," says J.J. Johnston, president and CEO of the Northern Colorado Economic Development Corp. "We know that they considered other sites, and we are very proud that this outstanding company, with its tremendous upside, chose to join in the promising future of northern Colorado."

The City of Loveland's assistance with the Medical Center of the Rockies agreement established the necessary foundation for the Heska project. By participating in public infrastructure development within Centerra, the City of Loveland helped to secure Heska's relocation.

Robert Grieve, CEO of Heska, says that Centerra is an ideal location for their new headquarters.

"By allowing us to stay close to our roots at Colorado State University, Centerra provides the perfect location for our new facility," he says. "We are consolidating our operations here, and we look forward to continuing our heritage of innovation at Centerra, which we expect to be an important hub for health and biotechnology."

The two-story building will have a single story in the rear for a research laboratory and warehouse.

Heska's state-of-the-art products to veterinarians include diagnostic and monitoring instruments and supplies as well as single use, point-of-care tests, vaccines and pharmaceuticals.

As of Sept. 30, Heska has 306 employees worldwide, including 145 based in Northern Colorado.
