Scott Lifschultz, executive vice president of GVA Williams, represented both Modell's and the building owner, Tartaglia Associates in the transaction.

Shopper's World is anchored by A.J. Wright, a TJX company, and Price Rite Supermarkets. Other tenants in the shopping center include Radio Shack, People's Bank, Teddy's Department Store, Color Tyme, American Steakhouse and A&P Liquors.

"After an extensive search throughout Fairfield County, Modell's chose to locate in Bridgeport due to the population density and psychographic makeup of the market," GVA Williams' Lifschultz said. "On behalf of Modell's, we are aggressively seeking more locations throughout the state."

Doug Epstein, director of real estate and general counsel for Modell's, notes, "We feel that there is an opportunity in the state of Connecticut for our concept and we are looking around in lower Fairfield County at moment." Currently, the firm, which is headquartered in New York City, is aggressively looking for properties in the Stamford, Norwalk, Danbury and Westbury markets, he adds.
