Been's Unified Residential company wants the county to approve the subdivision even though a county ordinance prohibits firing a gun within 200 yards of a residence. Brad Bradford Realty, which owns the shooting range, has told the county the range has vested rights on the site since it was there first. The county plans to review Been's rezoning request this week.

Been wants his tract rezoned to a planned development status from residential agriculture. The project became controversial when the county's citizens planning commission last month recommended the rezoning request be denied after the county's planning department staff recommended approval.
