Henry L. Danis, Westborough's town coordinator, tells GlobeSt.com that the property is part of a 130-acre portfolio that the real estate development arm of Jasko Tools is purchasing from Tyrolit North America Inc., a manufacturing company. Jasko has an option to purchase this building but has agreed to sell it to the town for $2 million, or $45 per sf.
"We think it's a bargain," says Danis, who notes that to replicate the building would cost about $90 per sf. Danis adds that the building would be used for future municipal space. The decision to purchase needs to be approved in Town Meeting this March. Danis says that the seller has agreed to hold onto the property until the town makes its decision.
