"There have been a lot of good folks ahead of me in the position," Yoder tells GlobeSt.com, "and I hope I can step in and fill their shoes." He joined the firm in 2001 and was named a principal last year.

Yoder, who will lead a team of 12, says his goal is to increase the 16.6-million-sf leasing portfolio to 20 million sf. His team will be shooting to achieve a leasing commission revenue goal of $4.5 million to $5 million for the company, he says.

"In an organization of our size, there's always change," Yoder says, adding his initial days will be spent assessing the team and "making sure we have the best people to go forward in the marketplace." Yoder most recently was responsible for more than three million sf of office space in the region.

"We are excited about this leadership opportunity for Jim in that he is a proven and respected professional within the DFW real estate community," Mark Fewin, Trammell Crow's area director, said in the press release announcing the promotion. Prior to joining the firm, Yoder was a partner in Poston Yoder Commercial Real Estate Services in Dallas.
