Hyatt is managing the property through its Moncon Management Inc. subsidiary. The hotel is being renamed Hyatt Regency Montreal. A multi-million dollar makeover will begin immediately and proceed over next year, according to Hyatt. The renovations will cover all areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, function space, food and beverage facilities and the lobby. Hyatt says one of the more noticeable changes will be the inclusion of a Regency Club lounge on the 12th floor.
The Hyatt Regency Montreal is Hyatt's 209th property worldwide, its fourth Hyatt in Canada and its first in Montreal. Hyatt Regency Montreal joins Hyatt Regency Vancouver, Hyatt Regency Calgary and Park Hyatt Toronto. Hyatt Hotels president Ed Rabin says the company's relationship with CNL will continue to grow.
In addition to being connected to the convention center, the hotel has 34,000 sf of its own meting space and sits adjacent to Complexe Desjardins, a retail and office complex with more than 120 stores and restaurants.
