One of the last remnants of the Old West, the town, tucked in the foothills of the Superstition Mountains about 20 miles from Apache Junction, is comprised of a school, restaurant, post office general store and candy and ice cream parlor set on a winding stretch of Arizona Route 88. It attracts thousands of visitors annually and is well knownthroughout the world.
Established in the 1800s as a settlement camp for miners, the town is situated in a valley around Tortilla Creek and within the Tonto National Forest, making the federal government the landowner. The town is being marketed by Sherri Pack with Lake Realty in Gold Canyon.
