According to the city, the plans include athree-story building of 90,000 sf; a four-story building of 120,000 sf; and a nine-story building of 270,000 sf. A parking deck that can accommodate 1,800 cars is also planned for the 18-acre site. Construction is to begin in summer 2004.
"We believe that the timing of the project is right and that when we complete it, we'll be in the later stages of a turn in the economy," says Albert Fratoni, SVP with Pitcairn. Fratoni declined to comment on potential tenants. The nine-story building will be constructed first, with the others to follow, based on demand. CB Richard Ellis will be the broker for the property. The new project, to be dubbed Pitcairn Place, will be the company's first property in Michigan.
