Colonial Realty Brokers Nearly 150,000 SF in Deals

David S. Gorbach, SIOR of Colonial Realty reports that Wittek Development has purchased 160 Avon St. in Stratford for $2.36 million. The commercial real estate development firm plans to divide the space to suit. Gorbach and Joel Hausman of Colonial Realty along with Scott Benson of Benson Commercial Realty of Tarrytown, NY were the brokers in the transaction.

Another large deal reported by Fairfield-based Colonial Realty was the 31,000-sf lease by New England Technical Institute at 8 Progress Drive in Shelton. The post secondary technical school plans to have culinary, electrical and nursing programs housed at the facility. Gorbach represented the tenant in the transaction, while Michael Dillon and Sean Cahill of CB Richard Ellis represented the building owner.

Gorbach was the sole broker in a 17,000-sf lease deal at 400 Long Beach Blvd. in Stratford with Corporate Express. The company is moving from an owned facility to the property, Colonial Realty officials say.

Other recent transactions of note negotiated by Gorbach include: the sale of 175 Bennett St. in Bridgeport to Bob Bridges for $1,135,000; Walker Construction's purchase of the 11,685-sf 129 Central Ave. in Bridgeport for $599,000; Confirmed Freight's acquisition of 220 Orland St. in Bridgeport for $272,500 and Heritage Custom Cabinetry's purchase of 170 Herbert St. in Bridgeport for $170,000. Gorbach represented the purchaser in the 175 Bennett St. deal, the owner in the Walker Construction purchase and was the sole broker in the 220 Orland St. and 170 Herbert St. sales. Jodie Dostal of Cushman & Wakefield represented Walker Construction in its purchase of 129 Central Ave.
