Founded in 1976, the Aurora Economic Development Council is a public/private partnership dedicated to enhancing the economic strength of the city of Aurora by recruiting new primary employers, retaining existing primary employers and assisting current primary employers to expand in the city. The EDC works with the commercial real estate community for growth in Aurora, the second-largest city in the metro area, and the third-largest in the state, following Denver and Colorado Springs.

The Aurora EDC board of directors consists of business and government leaders from throughout the metropolitan area. Board members provide the organization with strategic direction and oversight of business development efforts within the city and help manage the organization's collaborative efforts with regional economic development partners.

As SVP for Bank One, Burke directs the company's relationship with the Small Business Administration at all levels; manages a multi-million dollar operating budget; oversees a $500 million portfolio and leads the production of some $200 million in new loans annually.

"Burke's active role in Aurora EDC and experience in the field make him an excellent choice for chairman," says Tyler.
