Fitzsimons is the largest medical campus, biotech park, and teaching hospital of its kind in the country. Eventually, the Colorado Health Science Center and Children's Hospital, as well as possibly a new VA hospital, will move to Fitzsimons.
The selected consultant for the latest project at Fitzsimons will provide programming and planning services, followed by complete architectural and engineering conceptual design, schematic design, design development, cost reconciliation efforts, construction documents, bidding and construction administrative services.
Request for proposals documents will be available after Jan. 15.
Preference will be given to firms or individuals with recent experience in the following areas:
• Design of healthcare facilities, chemical dependency facilities and rehabilitation centers.
• History of designing facilities to a pre-determined cost budget.
• The ability to design a project that will cost at least $10 million.
• History of accurate construction cost estimating.
• History of designing projects constructed with a construction manger/general contractor system. Although this is desired, it is not mandatory.
• Available personnel to complete the project.
• Proven experience with computer aided design systems.
Final submittals must be received by 3 p.m. on Jan. 30.
