Sovereign House will occupy a strategic spot in the District's West End, a mostly commercial area that sits halfway between the trendy Georgetown and popular Dupont Circle neighborhoods. Part of the construction will extend to an existing garage facility adjacent to the medical building. Upon its scheduled early 2005 completion, the 150,000-sf residential dwelling will also feature a clubroom and a fitness center. This endeavor is just one of three new multifamily projects on the block that had been home to the Columbia Hospital for Women until 2001.
