Explaining his decision to make a change in brokerage firms, Cohen explains, "We're close to the finish line and I felt a strong, locally-based real estate firm could best complete this leasing assignment."

Colliers ABR had been the broker that helped transform the former General Foods headquarters complex into a multi-tenant corporate campus. The firm brokered the original lease for approximately 118,000 sf with Argent Mortgage, which has since expanded its presence at the property to more than 200,000 sf. The four-building, 600,000-sf complex is currently more than 80% leased.

Benson Commercial Realty says the firm will open an on-site leasing office at the 333 Westchester Ave. property later this month under the direction of Gary J. Curto, marketing director of exclusive tenant representations for the firm.

Curto is a real estate investor and business owner in Westchester County. He is a principal of Curto's Appliance & TV in Yonkers.

Scott Benson, principal of Benson Commercial Realty of Tarrytown, says he was the exclusive broker in the Singer Corp. lease transaction. The sewing machine company is expected to move from its corporate headquarters at 915 Broadway in Manhattan sometime in February.

With the Singer deal, Benson says there is approximately 120,000 sf currently available for lease, including a contiguous block of 40,000 sf and smaller units ranging from 2,500 sf to 16,000 sf.

Tenants at 333 Westchester Ave. include: Argent Mortgage Co., Endurance US Holding Corp., UDS, Allied Irish Banks; Moviefone, an America Online media company; MACSTEEL ASOMA, a steel trading company; Fredman & Rosan, a law firm; Rosenfeld & Tortu, a benefits consulting firm; Merit Direct, a marketing company and Stone, Russo & Lassaro, a CPA firm.
