The five-tower palace was recently constructed across West Seventh Street from the Xcel Energy Center, where the National Hockey League's All-Star game will be played next month. Admission to the palace requires the purchase of a $5 Winter Carnival button, which comes with a ticket to the palace.
The palace is expected to draw about one million people during the three-week run of the Winter Carnival. The ice palace itself was designed by SLL/LEO A DALY Architects. The construction was overseen by Kraus-Anderson Construction Cos.
