Kimley Horn will move the regional office in April to the second and third floors of the 180,000-sf, three-story building at 7878 N. 16th St., filling space vacated about two years ago when Aetna moved its operations to the Squaw Peak Corporate Center, Ashley Brooks with CB Richard Ellis Inc.'s Phoenix office tells GlobeSt.com.
"They had been in the 16th Street corridor for 10 years and preferred to stay in that area," Brooks said of the engineering firm's move. The transaction, which filled the Point Corridor Center IV to about 90% capacity, is one of the largest deals to close so far this year.
"A deal this size in Phoenix is a big deal," Dan Dobric with Presidio Commercial Services in Phoenix tells GlobeSt.com. "A lot of other landlords in town were pursuing this deal, but we were able to procure it because we were aggressive and we were able to create the space they needed within this building."
The Raleigh, NC-based company, which ranks among the nation's 20 largest civil engineering firms, previously occupied 30,497 sf of office space at 7600 N. 15th St. The firm, which has offices in 15 states, specializes in transportation, retail, airport, highway, wireless communications and mass transit design.
Dobric, along with Mike Myrick, also with Presidio Commercial Services, handled the leasing duties for building owner, Presidio Investments, while Brooks and CBRE brokers Keith Lambeth, Charles Miscio, Jim Bayless and Susan Evans represented the tenant in the transaction.
