City Sets $90,000 Hook for PIR's HQ

Avondale's City Council is expected to vote today on an agreement that would allow the track's operators, Phoenix Speedway Corp., to move its headquarters and retail operation into 12,000 sf of a 32,000-sf office building planned for the Avondale Civic Center.Avondale already serves as home to the raceway, the Valley's only NASCAR racing venue.

Under the proposed agreement, Avondale is offering to pay $90,000 to buy out the firm's lease at Arizona Center, where the company has been located for more than four years. In exchange, Phoenix Speedway will move its corporate offices and retail store to the Avondale Boulevard and Van Buren Street Civic Center for seven years. Michael Prosinski, with PIR, said if all parties approve the agreement, the company will move into the new facility this summer.
