Featuring a facade of brick and limestone, 1330 Connecticut Ave. occupies a prestigious corner lot just outside of Dupont Circle at the intersection of 19th and N streets in the Central Business District's "Golden Triangle" area. Past owners have kept the property in tiptop shape with frequent upgrades since its development in 1984. In addition to 240,000 sf of leasable office space, the building also features 12,500 sf of ground-level retail space 7,500 sf of storage, and a three-level underground parking facility.
Steptoe relinquished ownership of the property but it did not abandon the office space that it has called home for the last two decades. The law firm will continue to occupy most of the building, with its hold on nearly 212,000 sf under a lease that is not scheduled to expire until Dec. 21, 2013. The other lead tenant, the Recording Industry Association of America, has a lease on its 28,000 sf space until the end of 2006. International Technology & Trade Associates Inc. is also a building occupant.
