Gurevich, who also is building some of the first new market-rate housing in the nearby Washington Park community, plans three buildings with four units each, one of them a duplex unit. Prices will range from $250,000 to more than $300,000, he says, and hopes they will hit the market by the end of this year or early 2005. "This firm has done some of the nicest infill housing in North Kenwood," says 4th Ward Ald. Toni Preckwinkle.
Gurevich's project is about 18,000 sf, about 60% of what is allowed under the current R-5 zoning for the three parcels at 44th Place and Oakenwald Avenue.
