Another educational institution, Prince George's Community College, has also expanded its presence at UTC. PGCC doubled its space, bringing its total occupancy to 31,000 sf. With an entire floor to itself, the school will add a biology laboratory to its onsite offerings. UTC assistant director of leasing Cheryl Suggs tells GlobeSt.com that current leasing rates are running from $18 to $24.50 per sf.
Located near the Capital Beltway and Baltimore-Washington Parkway at a Metro Station that provides access to Washington, DC, UTC is easily reachable by a bevy of communities. "As we develop retail, entertainment and residential buildings here, University Town Center is destined to become a true transit-oriented mixed-use destination," says UTC president Herschel Blumberg. The office park offers amenities including a day-care center and police station, and is home to such occupants as Kaiser Permanente, Washington Hospital Center and various government offices.
