Encore Wire Corp., founded in 1989 in McKinney, plans to add 15 dock doors to a 32-door distribution center plus shift the main road for the one-million-sf campus, primarily under roof as factory space, Frank J. Bilban, Encore's vice president and CFO tells GlobeSt.com about a project that gets under way in 30 to 60 days. Another $10 million or so will be spent on manufacturing equipment to "address the bottlenecks to allow us to meet the increased demand for our products," Vincent A. Rego, Encore's chairman and CEO, said in a press release.

The expansion project will deliver in the third quarter for a company that ended 2003 with $385 million in sales of electrical wire for commercial and residential construction. "This is quite a story up here," Bilban says. "It's a real growth story and in a mature industry.
