Howard E. Greenberg, president of Howard Properties, Ltd. was the exclusive tenant representative for Kaufman, Borgeest & Ryan in all three lease deals. In Westchester County, Kaufman, Borgeest & Ryan signed a lease expansion for nearly 5,000 sf at 200 Summit Lake Dr. in Valhalla. The law firm, which moved into the building owned by Reckson Associates Realty Corp. in late 2001, now occupies approximately 19,000 sf of space at the 229,000-sf building.
Greenberg noted that the law firm has also signed a new 9,600-sf lease for the entire 24th floor at 99 Park Ave. in Manhattan. In an earlier transaction completed by Greenberg, the firm expanded and relocated its New York City headquarters to that building in 2001 by subleasing the entire 19th floor of 17,000 sf from Fleet Bank.
In addition, the law firm has set up a new regional office on Long Island in 4,480 sf of space at 1305 Franklin Ave. in Garden City. "This law firm has signed leases totaling nearly 50,000 square feet since 2001," Greenberg says.
Wayne Borgeest, a partner and member of the management committee of Kaufman, Borgeest & Ryan, says the firm, which specializes in representing defendants in malpractice and employer and products liability cases as well as corporate directors and officers' liability litigation, was formed in 1997 with just six attorneys occupying about 2,500 sf of space.
