The 100,000-sf Mayo Clinic Research Collaboration Building will house the Translational Genomics Research Institute along with labs for the Mayo Clinic and other researchers on property owned by the Mayo Clinic. Scottsdale developer Tom Hornaday is laying out $25 million to build the 13400 E. Shea Rd. facility, which is scheduled to open later this year.

Between 15,000 sf and 20,000 sf of the building will be occupied by the Center for Translational Drug Development with an additional 10,000 sf dedicated to a facility designed to house rodents used in research. The remaining space, about 70% of the building, will be leased to the Mayo Clinic and other biotech firms.
