"During his tenure he has undertaken the most difficult assignments and offered sound advice," says Considine. During the past decade, Kompaniez helped oversee Aimco's growth from a portfolio of 132 owned or managed properties with 29,343 apartment units to 1,629 properties with 287,560 apartment units as of Dec. 31, 2003.

Kompaniez was instrumental in Aimco's numerous acquisitions, including the March 2002 acquisition of Casden Properties Inc., and the integration into Aimco's portfolio of those acquisitions. Most recently, Kompaniez spearheaded Aimco's equity financing transaction in the form of a property joint venture with GE Real Estate. Kompaniez is currently the acting head of the Los Angeles Regional Operating Center with operating authority over Aimco's 42 properties in California, which include a total of 12,822 units.

Aimco owns and operates a geographically diversified portfolio of apartment communities through 19 regional operating centers. Aimco's properties are located in 47 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
