Pederson says that Moulton, who died at age 53 last year of amyloidosis, a rare blood disorder, would have been pleased by the award. Pederson went on to say that groups such as NAIOP seldom honor government officials this way, because they see them as hindering their development opportunities and making life more difficult for them.

Moulton, Pederson tells GlobeSt.com, didn't see growth as inherently wrong. But she knew it needed to be managed.He says the commercial real estate industry ought to be as objective and as reflective as Moulton was, and should spend more time looking at the impact they are having, rather than just trying to take advantage of market conditions.

Legacy Plaza, developed by Legacy Partners, is the Office Development of the Year of more than 100,000 sf, while the Town Center office Suites at Stapleton on East 29th Avenue is the Office Development of the Year with Less than 100,000 sf. General Motors SPO at ProLogis Park 70 in the Industrial Development of the Year, andCenterra in Loveland is the Development of the Year. This is the first northern Colorado project to win this award.

W.W. Reynolds Co., headed by Bill Reynolds, is the Owner Developer of the Year. Evan Kline of the Frederick Ross Co. and 2003 NAIOP chapter president, received the Award of Excellence. Craig A. Poulter, SVP at LaSalle Bank, is Member of the Year, and and State Rep. Gregg P. Rippy and State Sen. Andy McElhany received the James T. Brubaker Legislative award. The award is named after Brubaker, an SVP at Coldwell Banker Commercial, who died last year.
