New Castle Hotels & Resorts, a co-owner of the hotel, is the manager of the six-story facility that took more than a year to build. David Buffam, chief executive officer of New Castle Hotels & Resorts, puts the total development cost of the project at approximately $20 million.
Continued high demand for affordable suites lodging in the area should make the new suites hotel attractive for business and leisure travelers alike, according to New Castle Hotels & Resorts officials.
Gerald P. Chase, president, chief operating officer of New Castle, adds, "This product makes sense for both business travelers who want expanded working space and services for their extended stays, and for leisure travelers who are seeking the comforts and convenience of a suite setting."
The all-suite hotel offers a dining room serving a daily complimentary breakfast buffet, two meeting rooms, business center, exercise room, indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, laundry facilities and a sundries shop. All guest rooms include a pantry area with mini refrigerator, microwave and coffee service. Each room is equipped with a large desk and ergonomic chair, wireless high speed internet, two-line phone with data port and voice mail, a second phone in the bedroom, a pull-out sofa bed and other amenities, company officials say.
The New Castle-Widewaters Group partnership's other New York property is the 130-room Hampton Inn & Suites hotel in Victor, NY. New Castle Hotels & Resorts also manages the Queensbury Hotel in Glens Falls, NY.
The SpringHill Suites by Marriott brand was launched in 1998 and now has nearly 100 properties in the U.S. and Canada. New Castle Hotels & Resorts owns and manages 19 resorts and hotels in the U.S. and Canada, including four hotels in Fairfield County, CT. The SpringHill Suites Tarrytown-Greenburgh marks the firm's entrance into the Westchester County market.
