Dallas BOMA presented the honors along with the annual Lone Star Awards and inducted this year's officers at a first-time evening ceremony before 425 attendees at the Omni Mandalay in Las Colinas. Exceptional Landscaping of Dallas sponsored the event.
The Cousins winners included repeat performances by the Points at Waterview and the Sterling Commerce Building in the 100,000-sf to 299,999-sf and 250,000-sf to 499,999-sf categories, respectively.
The Points at Waterview at 3400 Waterview Parkway in Richardson scored its third consecutive win. The 202,695-sf building, designed by HKS Inc. in Dallas, is managed by Rhonda Dorsey with Paul Sharp as the asset manager for the limited partnership owner, Cousins Properties Waterview.
The Sterling Commerce Building at 750 W. John Carpenter Freeway marked its second win for the Cousins management team and property owner, Sterling Commerce America Inc. Also an HKS design, the 306,797-sf building in Irving is managed by John Wehmeyer.
Cousins took the top award in the one-million-sf and over category with the 1.4-million-sf Towers at Williams Square in the heart of Las Colinas. The four-building complex along North O'Connor Road, with the famous bronze mustangs in front, is managed by Helen Moise and Jackie Rector. Owned by TIAA Realty Inc. of New York City, the development's landmark property is a design of the Skidmore Owings & Merrill, also NYC.
Cousins shared the limelight with CarrAmerica Realty, Capstar Commercial Real Estate Services, Southwest Real Estate Services and Equity Office Properties.
CarrAmerica won the mid-rise category for a suburban office park with the 190,000-sf Tollway Plaza I and II at 15950 Dallas NorthTollway. Owned by Carr Development & Construction of Washington, DC, the Dallas-based Omniplan Architects designed the complex, which is managed by Marilyn Weinberger.
The renovated building award went to the Webb @ LBJ, owned by AGB Northtown LP and managed by a Capstar team led by Wes Combs and previously by Debbie Bunch. The 375,376-sf building at the corner of Interstate 635 and Webb Chapel Road was designed by Edwin Brantley Smith & Associates Inc. of Dallas.
Cityplace Center at 2711 N. Haskell St. took the corporate facility award. The 1.4-million-sf building is owned by the Cityplace Center East Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of 7-11 Corp. Designed by Cossutta & Associates of New York City, the building manager is Tracy Bearfield of Southwest Real Estate Services.
An Equity Office Properties' management team won the 500,000-sf to 999,999-sf category for the Colonnade, three towers totaling 985,254 sf at 15303 Dallas Parkway. The building's owner of record is TX-Colonnade of Dallas LP; its architect, Haldeman Powell & Partners of Dallas. Linda Phillips is the general manager.
Individuals were recognized for their 2003 achievements as recipients of the Lone Star Awards on an agenda that included the introduction of this year's officers. Equity's Scott Senese is the president; John Anderson of Granite Properties, vice president; and Pam Davis, also with Equity, secretary/treasurer.
