CountrySide Shopping Center was developed in 1986 on Pidgeon Hill Drive, just off Route 7. Anchored by a 47,000-sf Safeway grocery store, the retail destination was 95% leased at the time of the transaction to a variety of tenants, including CountrySide animal clinic, salon and day spa Hair Port Ltd., Hunter Mill Deli, and Pev's Paintball Pro Shop. For Saul Centers, the acquisition marks the company's fourth neighborhood shopping center in the county. The REIT also has a stake in retail properties in the Ashburn, Broadlands and Lansdowne, VA neighborhoods.
