The new subsidiary's targets include office, industrial and retail properties with a goal toward "establishing a foothold in...central and south central Pennsylvania," says David Hogg, president and CEO of the parent firm and broker of record for the subsidiary. Expansion efforts began "unofficially," he says, at the first of the year with tenant and owner representation in Dauphin, Lancaster and York counties. The new division currently represents owners of open shopping centers and manages office buildings in the York, Harrisburg, and Hershey, PA area and plans inroads in the Susquehanna Valley and Maryland.

Randy Merciez, former VP of property management for the Baltimore office of Trammell Crow Co., joined Springwood last August and heads the new division as director of commercial services. The division is a member of TCN Worldwide, the Dallas-based consortium of independent commercial real estate firms. Springwood recently consolidated offices in a new facility the company developed near the Leader Heights exit of I 83 here.
