Christopher O'Callaghan has left McCarthy O'Callaghan to become head of the Westchester County brokerage office of Stamford, CT-based Albert B. Ashforth Inc. O'Callaghan is joining the firm as a senior vice president.
Meanwhile, McCarthy has changed the name of his firm back to what it was originally when he first left Rostenberg-Doern, McCarthy Associates. The newly established firm will continue to do business out of its offices at 1 North Broadway here. Officially, the McCarthy O'Callaghan firm ceased operations on March 15.
O'Callaghan, commenting on his decision to leave his own firm for Albert B. Ashforth, says, "This is an exciting opportunity for me to join an outstanding firm. I have always admired Albert B. Ashforth as the finest real estate firm in Fairfield County. I am looking forward to bringing that expertise and heritage to the Westchester County marketplace." He will initially work out of the company's Stamford office in anticipation of establishing a Westchester County location in the future.
McCarthy, who notes that associates Richard Novak, Timothy Donohue, Peter Sweetser and office manager Romy Paulin have joined the new firm, says, "Chris and I had a great run together. But at this point in our careers, we felt it was time to pursue other interests and approaches to the business, and we were able to shake hands and move on. I wish Chris well, and, at the same time, I am moving forward aggressively with a firm that is fully in place and up and running."
