Sigler & Reeves will double the size of its existing Phoenix facility when they move into the 9702 W. Tonto St. building in Tolleson. Construction completion is set for November, Alan Torvie, senior director for Phoenix-based Opus West Construction Corp., tells GlobeSt.com.
Torvie says the single-story, tilt-wall building, which will go up on 14 acres near 99th Avenue and Buckeye Road just west of Phoenix, also will feature a two-story mezzanine office for the firm's corporate staff. The project, set to break ground this week, is estimated to cost between $7 million and $8 million to construct. "It's a big expansion for them," Torvie says, noting the move will help the company centralize its distribution of air conditioners, parts and supplies.
The 14-acre site also allows enough room for future expansion, says Jim Fritcher, senior vice president in charge of design-build operations for Opus West Construction. Sigler & Reeves presently is located in about 70,000 sf at 35th Avenue and Indian School Road, but has additional offices in Albuquerque, Tucson, El Paso and Las Vegas.
Headquartered in Phoenix since 1969, the privately owned Sigler & Reeves is a subsidiary of Russell Sigler, Inc a member of the Arthur Anderson Top 100 privately owned companies. Opus West is the project's designer and general contractor.
