Consoer Townsend Envirodyne is owned by Los Angeles-based Aecom is a global technical professional services company, and has been a tenant at the 800,000-sf East Loop office tower since 1980, when the 28-story tower was completed. McClier, a consulting, architecture, engineering and construction company, will relocate from north of the Chicago River at 401 E. Illinois St. this fall. Together, the Aecom companies become the second-largest tenant in the building after accounting giant KPMG.

Although terms were not disclosed, published net lease rates at 303 E. Wacker Dr. start at $16 per sf, which would keep about $2 million a year flowing to the joint venture's bottom line.

Hines Interests and JPMorgan Investment Management Inc. bought the building for $74 million in 1998 from Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., then embarked on a renovation project the following year.

Regional vice president Tom D'Arcy and property manager Michael Kaiser handled negotiations for Hines Interests. Ness Hamaoui of the Los Angeles office of Cushman & Wakefield Inc. represented CTE Engineers.
