Hines vice president Douglas McKinnon, who formerly held that position, has joined a new affiliate of the Houston-based firm focused on raising capital for new investments. McKinnon will continue to be based in Denver and will be directing regional sales activities on behalf of the new affiliate in the Rocky Mountain States and Arizona.

In his new capacity, Shores' responsibilities will include development, acquisition/disposition and management.

In the past, he has been instrumental in securing the assignment for the firm as development manager for the Progressive Insurance Regional Headquarters in Colorado Springs; contracting for the Denver Postal Annex site, for which he is currently seeking development deals; and selling 4600 S. Syracuse, a Hines-developed office building in the Denver Tech Center.

Hines has been active in the Colorado market since 1983 when the firm developed the 1.2-million-sf Wells Fargo Center in Denver. Currently, the firm controls the Postal Annex development site in Lower Downtown Denver, owns 21 acres of land in the Meridian Business Park slated for a build-to-suit development and is property manager for the ICG headquarters building in Inverness Business Park in Southeast Denver.

Other Hines developments in Colorado include the Aspen Highlands Village, River Valley Ranch golf course community in Carbondale and Zephyr Mountain Lodge at Winter Park.
