With the approval of the tax break, plans should go ahead not only to keep JCI's existing headquarters in Plymouth, but allow the company to go ahead with a previously-announced $140-million expansion project on land next to the existing three-building headquarters complex. The headquarters now encompasses about 600,000 sf.
DeMattia Corp. owns one of the existing three JCI buildings and would develop the new facility as well. JCI owns the other two buildings.
JCI is an automotive supplier, perhaps best known for making seats and other interior components for the industry.
