TCC's global director Trevor Foster, who relocated from Norwalk, CT, tells GlobeSt.com that a year of talks turned into a new position for the Dallas-based company and an opportunity for him "to change the industry." Marking his first day on the job yesterday, he will spend the coming months reviewing TCC resources and structuring while developing the plan for a focus group with facilities oversight for a 475-million-sf portfolio of leased and managed properties worldwide.
Foster has spent the past few months transitioning from Emcor Group Inc., where he built a facilities management business totaling $1 billion in seven years as its vice president of corporate development and executive vice president of facilities services. Emcor did not return a telephone call by publication time for comment on the top exec's departure, which was last Friday. Emcor Group is a Fortune 500 company and global leader in mechanical and electrical construction and facilities services.
Foster says his sustainability strategies can produce 10% to 30% in savings by adjusting operators' behavioral patterns and providing enabling technologies to score homeruns with increased asset performances and cash flow. The new global group will be part of the operating committee and kept to a small size, but will reach out to corporate and institutional clients for all management services. "Global is not all about geography. It's about servicing clients anywhere in the world," he says.
Foster previously worked for Johnson Controls in senior management and various operational and engineering positions in his native Australia, the UK and US. He is active in the Houston-based International Facilities Management Association, Building Controls Group as well as other key industry organizations.
"We are extremely pleased to have someone of Trevor's outstanding reputation, knowledge and experience join our organization," Mike Lafitte, TCC's president of global services, said in a press release. "Under his leadership, we will be well positioned to continue growing our property and facilities management business.
