LISC reports the $15.3 million raised in its "From The Ground Up" campaign to revitalize Detroit neighborhoods leveraged more than $282 million in community development in neighborhoods citywide, accomplished by resident-led community development corporations who do the work.
Detroit is one of 38 sites of LISC, the largest national non-profit supporter and funding source of economic development initiatives.
"With the strength of its Local Advisory Committee members, Detroit LISC is a leader in community development," says LISC president and chief executive officer Michael Rubinger. "These members are committed corporate, foundation and public executives who are known as advocates in the industry. We recognize their importance to the success here in Detroit."
