60 Park Place itself is co-owned by the Kushner Cos., Florham Park, NJ, which serves as the operating partner, along with Blackacre Capital Management. The building, which has undergone a multi-million-dollar makeover, has seen a steady stream of leasing on the office side, according to Ira Bloom, Kushner's director of commercial leasing. Terms of the restaurant's lease were not disclosed

Newark Restaurant Group, meanwhile, is owned by Philip Darrow, a veteran of the New York dining scene who has been involved in such eateries as Café des Artistes, The Sea Grill, Picholine and Club Macanudo, as well as the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park.

The new restaurant's official opening is slated for September 8. However, a "soft" opening is slated in the form of what the operators are calling a "preview season" during the coming summer months. The menu is being described as "contemporary."
