"Chesapeake Spice Co.'s decision demonstrates how Maryland's skilled workforce, our outstanding quality of life, costs of doing business, and prime locations are helping to retain key businesses in our State," Maryland Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. notes. "By giving companies like Chesapeake Spice Co. the tools they need to grow and expand, we are ensuring that Maryland's economy continues to grow."
Both state and local groups gave a helping hand in courting the spice manufacturer. The Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development agreed to provide a loan for the development endeavor, and the Harford County Department of Economic Development committed to a loan for relocation costs.
