The town representative says that Paul Chuckran currently owns the property and will likely lease the site to Mining Organics. She notes that feelings about the project are fairly mixed. "The landfill has to be capped and this is a way to get it done, but others don't want this type of business here," she says.
The landfill is located in the town's south business district. The site does not need to be rezoned for the project, but it will need a special permit from the town.
