A company official says DropShop Store plans to roll out additional outlet stores in the Westchester and Connecticut area in the next six months. At deadline, it is not known how many new locations the retailer plans to launch in the Westchester-Fairfield region in the coming months.
DropShop Store is a retail chain that offers consumers way to sell products via eBay. The retailer offers various consulting services to consumers to help market and sell their products on eBay. DropShop then charges a commission ranging in the 17% to 29% range depending on the final sale price.
Michael Sheldon, chief executive officer of DropShop Store, says, "I think the need for this type of service in high-income locations like Greenwich and Westchester County wasn't recognized until we came on the scene. Now, after area residents have found that many of their unneeded items are of high value to consumers--they are, in turn, placing a high value on us to convert those items to cash."
He added that the company decided to open a location in Larchmont in response to the strong business it has enjoyed at its Greenwich outlet.
DropShop is not the sole proprietor of eBay-consulting outlets. GlobeSt.com has previously reported on QuickDrop and AuctionDrop, which both plan to add hundreds of retail centers around the world in the coming years.
